Wrigley - The Sign

Posted by Picasa
While I've been to 1060 W. Addison before, this shot is from my first game there. The Cubbies did win, which makes it exciting, but I've always liked this shot of the sign.

Chickenfoot - Concert Photos

Posted by Picasa
I don't know how many of you out there are familiar with the 'foot, but I went with Millan in August to see them in Chicago and it was a hell of a show. Some of my concert photos came out really well, though I would love to see what could be done with some other equipment. Here you get a real sense of Joe Satriani's playing, and Sammy's singing, they really drove the crowd the whole time. Awesome show.

A Bird's Eye View

This is downtown Boston as I flew out of Logan Airport on a small 8 person cessna out from Logan. I got this amazing shot near sunset, and I've always just thought it was really cool.

Battery Park - San Francisco California - Golden Gate Bridge

Posted by Picasa
I ran across this little gem in my collection of old photos, it dates all the way back to 2006 and my first infamous trip out to California, (yes, I am referring the the infamous Google incident). I took this with my junkie little Aiptek 3mp camera which I do still have to this day. The same camera that I took on my first trip to Europe some 9 months later. Both batches of photos had about half the yield come out blurry. Anyhow, ran across this guy recently and made some tweaks to produce what you see before you: a rather sepia looking serene scene of Battery and the Golden Gate Bridge. I have better photos, but I love this one for some reason.

Ghirardelli Sign - San Francisco, Ca

Posted by Picasa
This shot of the Ghirardelli Landmark sign was from my trip out to California in October at the start of my 18 mile bike ride. I took this shot from the S.F. Maritime National Historical Park (or very near there), which is where blazing saddles starts their bike rides. Way fun. I highly recommend it.

Scenic from across the lake

Posted by Picasa
This was another early morning shot out at the beaverfest; everything was just still, and I loved the serenity of this scene.

Half Mast - Milwaukee, Wi

Posted by Picasa

What you're looking at is the Town Hall (I believe) of downtown Milwaukee. I shot this during a parade, and it just happened to be a beautiful day; thought it was a pretty cool shot so...there you go.

Boat at the lake - Near South Bend, In

Posted by Picasa
This is another shot from Beaverfest this past year, it was a beautiful morning and I was the the only one awake more or less, so I had free reign to shoot away. This is one of the shots that came out of that session. I did tweak the color just a bit, but it's more or less how it came out of the camera.

Up around the bend

Posted by Picasa
So...I couldn't believe that I took this shot, I mean, you've seen my stuff...but this was really early in the morning and I had just read an article that said I should be shooting the light, once I saw this scene, that's exactly what I did and now I'm crazy for this shot.

Empire State - NYC

Posted by Picasa
So, I like a lot of things about this shot. I never stopped walking, it was a beautiful blue day, and I love the angle on the Empire State Building. Julie and I had just gone to the top, and I can tell you it was cloudy up there, but once we were on the ground...

Washington Arch in Greenwich Villiage NYC

Posted by Picasa
I totally love this shot, and sure I tweaked the blue a bit, but this is mostly untouched. It was a beautiful day in Greenwich Village when Julie and I visited there in October.

Not black and white, but close.

This picture is also from our time at the lake this fall, a farm house and bare trees across the lake. I love this shot. Apart from straightening it out, I didn't do anything to it. Looks like it's done in B&W though. Cool.

Daisy at the lake

This is a picture of the littlest Coughlin; Daisy. She had just joined the clan when we met up with them earlier this year at the cabin. A little yellow lab, she is a sweet girl.

Sepia in the Third Ward

I can't tell you why this has always been one of my favorite photos, but the old timey look of the street sign, plus the sepia sky just always worked for me. When Julie got me a new camera for my birthday, she and her mom and sister were shopping in the third ward, and I was out taking random photos, this is one of those that came out of that set.

This little bistro is near the Spanish Arch in Galway, Ir. Just happened to come out pretty well.

Pike Steet Market - Seattle, Wa - Nov 2007

This has always been one of my favorite photos, maybe because night shots always come out terribly for me but this one is very clear. I believe that I just set the camera on the table for stability and took the shot that way. Anyway, in the forground are the mutton bars of the window from the pub across the street from the Pike Street Market. This is very near where the original Starbucks is.

Guinness Poster, Dublin Ireland

So, I love this photo, and I think it probably kickstarted my love of focal B&W photos. To me, this one screamed for it, just allowing the harp to appear in color draws your eye there. This poster is in the Gravity Bar at the top of the Guinness Store House in Dublin Ireland. mmmm, Guinness.

ATP - 2007 - Overhand Tennis

So this is from the Women's ATP in Cincinnati in 2007; I went with my brother and caught a couple of very cool shots when my brother and I got great seats at this matchup, (as you can see there wasn't a lot of competition for the seats) but it was still a lot of fun. All I've done with this shot is straighten and tweak the color slightly.
